Skagit Dash began with a simple question:
What would a local delivery service look like if it were built around the needs of our own community?
I’m a local Mount Vernon woman, and I started Skagit Dash because I saw an opportunity to create something that could benefit customers, restaurants, and drivers at the same time.
Large delivery platforms may offer convenience, but local restaurants can sometimes feel like just another listing in an app. I wanted to build something more personal—something rooted in relationships, communication, and respect for the businesses that make Skagit County special.
Supporting local restaurants
One of the biggest reasons I started Skagit Dash was to support small and locally owned restaurants.
Restaurants are not inventory. They are businesses built by real people who invest their time, money, energy, and heart into serving our community.
My goal is to create partnerships that feel like a win for everyone involved. Restaurants should have another way to reach customers without feeling overlooked, customers should have access to dependable local delivery, and Skagit Dash should grow alongside the businesses it serves.
Creating opportunities with ownership
I also wanted to create flexible opportunities for local drivers.
The goal is not simply to find people who will complete deliveries. I want drivers to feel that they are representing something they can take pride in.
Skagit Dash is being built for people who value independence, reliability, customer service, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Drivers should understand how important they are to the customer experience and feel a sense of ownership in the reputation we build together.
Every interaction matters—from picking up an order professionally to communicating clearly and making sure each delivery is handled with care.
Reliability before rapid growth
It would be easy to launch quickly and try to serve every area immediately. That is not the approach I want to take.
Skagit Dash will begin by focusing on Mount Vernon, Burlington, and Sedro-Woolley. Starting with a smaller service area will allow us to build strong restaurant relationships, develop dependable driver coverage, and create clear support systems before expanding.
I would rather grow carefully and earn the community’s trust than make promises before the business is ready to fulfill them.
That is why one of the principles behind Skagit Dash is:
Reliability before scale.
A local idea built for Skagit County
Skagit Dash is more than a delivery website or an app concept. It is an opportunity to create a locally focused network connecting customers, restaurants, and drivers.
The vision is simple:
- Make local delivery easier to trust.
- Help restaurants reach more customers.
- Create flexible opportunities for dependable local drivers.
- Keep more business activity connected to our own community.
There is still a lot being built behind the scenes. Restaurant partnerships, driver onboarding, pricing, service hours, and delivery operations must all be thoughtfully finalized before ordering opens.
I’m excited to share that process honestly as Skagit Dash moves closer to launch.
Thank you for following the journey and supporting a new local idea built right here in Skagit County. 💚
