Building a local delivery service involves much more than creating a website and recruiting drivers. Behind every future delivery, there needs to be a reliable system helping all the moving pieces work together.
That is why we’re excited to share an important Skagit Dash progress update:
We’ve built our own fleet software, and testing is now underway.
Software Designed Around Our Local Vision
Instead of shaping Skagit Dash around a generic system, we’re developing software specifically for the local delivery network we plan to launch in Skagit County.
Our goal is to create technology that will eventually help support the coordination of deliveries across the Skagit Dash network. Building the software ourselves gives us the opportunity to thoughtfully shape the tools around our future customers, drivers, restaurant partners, and local community.
What Testing Looks Like
Completing the initial software build is an exciting milestone, but it is only one part of the process.
We are now running through the system, testing workflows, looking for gaps, and identifying areas that need to be refined. This stage helps us learn how the different parts of the platform work together before the service becomes available to the public.
Testing may uncover changes we need to make—and that is exactly what this phase is for. We want to find opportunities for improvement now so we can continue building a stronger foundation for launch.
Why Our Fleet Software Matters
Fleet software will play an important role in helping Skagit Dash coordinate future delivery activity.
As development continues, the system is being shaped to support essential parts of the planned delivery experience, including the flow of information between the people and businesses participating in the network.
Owning and developing this technology also gives Skagit Dash more flexibility. As we learn what our community needs, we will have greater control over how the platform evolves.
Where Skagit Dash Stands Today
Here is our current progress:
- The initial fleet software has been built.
- Internal testing is underway.
- We are identifying gaps and refining workflows.
- Skagit Dash remains in its pre-launch stage.
- No public delivery service is available yet.
We want to be transparent about that last point. This update represents meaningful progress, but it is not a launch announcement.
There is still important work ahead before Skagit Dash begins accepting public delivery orders.
Building Carefully Toward Launch
Every completed system, successful test, and thoughtful improvement brings us another step closer to the local delivery service we envision for Skagit County.
We are proud of this milestone, and we’re looking forward to sharing more of the building process as testing and development continue.
Thank you for following the Skagit Dash journey and supporting a new local service being built for our community.
